Raised Beds and Seeds

I am so excited! I just placed my order for raised garden beds. I had thought about creating my own, but I thought about the use of wood and its decomposition and looked around for other "green" alternatives. I found 4X8X12" garden beds at http://www.mastergardener.com/. They are made from composite materials which are recycled and will last for years. Here is an example of what it will look like .
I have also selected my seeds for this year. I have chosen to grow the following
Tomatoes
Carrots
Cucumbers
Peppers
Potatoes
Shallots
Corn
Leeks
I am also growing the following herbs
Parsley
Sage
Rosemary
Thyme
Lavender
Basil
Tarragon
I think this is an ambitious start to a backyard Potager. I will determine as the season goes on what I can plant in the second harvest such as garlic, melons, etc.
If only the weather would cooperate here in Ohio, I could get out and start preparing the area for the garden bed....oh well...I suppose I can start my tomato seeds and be satisfied with that...happy gardening!
